Committed to keeping our island community thriving

Our team believes that affordable housing is the heart of a thriving, inclusive island community. They are committed to delivering on our mission because, without it, many of us wouldn’t be able to stay in the place we love.

Larissa is a long time island, 7th generation of her family here in Friday Harbor. She is very passionate about making a change for our happiness and creating self sustainability as a community. She has a background in business management, food and beverage as well as commercial fishing having been raised by a 6th generation commercial fisherman and a 1st generation Honduran chef. After running her family restaurants for 10 years in Honduras and moving back to the island to raise her son, she encountered the difficulties of affordable housing for her and her partner to raise their son in a home of their own. She is very excited to be able to support the progress of creating affordable housing in her mission to have a self sustainable community once again.

Larissa joined the Home Trust in 2024 as the Logistics Lead and catch all for Home Trust business, happenings, and administrative functions. Her capabilities became quickly apparent and she began training in housing counseling—eventually being promoted to Housing Program Manger in 2025.
